Overpriced and it doesn’t last long. For the cost of the cartridge it should last at least a bit more.

The color fades really quickly. The black ink looks more gray. Not dark enough. Need more ink in each cartridge. The cartridge is empty too quickly.

      Hello Winnie

I was distressed to hear that your cartridge was not working well. It is understandable for you to be upset.

If a cartridge appears to be defective, you can return it or exchange it either to the store or by mail. Information about that can be found at:

I don't know what happened to HP but their ink dries up too fast and the printer will stop printing when you still have half or better ink left. The only way to fix it is buy a new cartridge. Cheep Ink!

I bought a black ink cartridge for my HP ENVY printer and within a week it was almost out of ink. I did not use the printer very much. I am beginning to regret that I bought a new HP ENVY printer.

I had bought the new ink. I put the new cartridge in my printer & it doesn’t print anything. I check the level on my the printer it says it’s empty. I thought maybe I put the old one in. I put the old one in & that also says it’s empty. I can’t bring it back because it was opened. Ink is expensive to me & wasted my money for something I can’t use!

‘Standard’ means not to capacity. The XL version is the same size cartridge and apparently contains more ink, but is also priced higher. HP rips you off either way.

Not Best Buy’s fault. I think this particular cartridge is defective and an HP issues. I keep getting error messages when installing. Unfortunately I purchased some time ago to have on hand when it was difficult to get cartridge and last BB return date.

      Hello there,

It’s a disappointment the cartridge is defective. Have you tried the troubleshooting measures? I would start by doing a test print page. So sorry for the result you saw. You brought up a great point. It is important to check cartridges when you get them to ensure a speedy return. Otherwise, Best Buy will not take them back.

Hello there, It's a shame the ink is fading mid-cartridge. Fading is not expected mid-cartridge. I want to solve this phenomenon for you. First, I would try to adjust the print quality setting. The second step is to check the cartridge for leaks and clogs. I would also ensure the cartridge is secured in the holder. If those tips don't resolve the issue, contact support. Hi Barb,

I am sorry that you received cartridge that did not seem to last long enough. There is an XL version of the HP 62 cartridge that many people consider to be a better value.

If you are someone who prints a lot, you might consider trying Instant Ink. The subscription plans let you pay for the pages you print, not the cartridges. Check out the details at: HPinstantink.com

Unless a cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it lasts. There are some things that can lower your ink usage:
      - You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
      - Some paper is highly absorbent and will use more ink, especially if the environment is dry. Use a good quality paper designed for printers.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.

When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller about it.
