Annoyed
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought the new ink. I put the new cartridge in my printer & it doesn’t print anything. I check the level on my the printer it says it’s empty. I thought maybe I put the old one in. I put the old one in & that also says it’s empty. I can’t bring it back because it was opened. Ink is expensive to me & wasted my money for something I can’t use!

Standard does not mean Full
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.‘Standard’ means not to capacity. The XL version is the same size cartridge and apparently contains more ink, but is also priced higher. HP rips you off either way.

HP defect
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not Best Buy’s fault. I think this particular cartridge is defective and an HP issues. I keep getting error messages when installing. Unfortunately I purchased some time ago to have on hand when it was difficult to get cartridge and last BB return date.

Posted .Hello there,
It’s a disappointment the cartridge is defective. Have you tried the troubleshooting measures? I would start by doing a test print page. So sorry for the result you saw. You brought up a great point. It is important to check cartridges when you get them to ensure a speedy return. Otherwise, Best Buy will not take them back.

Posted .Hello there, It's a shame the ink is fading mid-cartridge. Fading is not expected mid-cartridge. I want to solve this phenomenon for you. First, I would try to adjust the print quality setting. The second step is to check the cartridge for leaks and clogs. I would also ensure the cartridge is secured in the holder. If those tips don't resolve the issue, contact support. The website is www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/. Amanda HP Care www.hp.com/support/

Priced too high
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price is too high for the amount you can print. I like the xl size better but still rather expensive.

OK…but wish it was a larger cartridge.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works good but wish the cartridge was larger… gets used up faster than my older printer that used a larger cartridge

Posted .Hi Barb,
I am sorry that you received cartridge that did not seem to last long enough. There is an XL version of the HP 62 cartridge that many people consider to be a better value.
If you are someone who prints a lot, you might consider trying Instant Ink. The subscription plans let you pay for the pages you print, not the cartridges. Check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
Unless a cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it lasts. There are some things that can lower your ink usage:
- You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
- Some paper is highly absorbent and will use more ink, especially if the environment is dry. Use a good quality paper designed for printers.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller about it.

Fewer pages printed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not get the number of pages printed that it estimated I would get. The ink ran out quicker than I had expected.

Does not last long.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not last long, if you leave your home printer off for a short time you have to replace the cartridge again.

Posted .Hi Calvin,
I am very sorry to hear that the cartridge stops working so early. While it is difficult to know why a cartridge stops working, there is a good possibility that it needs cleaning. That is a pretty easy process. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let the printer 'park' so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying. The drying can cause clogs in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If that does not help, it is probable that the cartridge is defective, and you can:
- ask the seller for a refund or replacement.
- contact us if it is a defective genuine cartridge that is not replaced by the seller(and is still within the warranty ends date on the cartridge): hp.com/contactHP

defective Black ink cartridge
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered one Color and one Black ink cartridge (#62) for my HP printer. The color one is fine, but the black ink cartridge is not usable. The printer generates a "defective cartridge" error. Hoping I can return it for credit.
