Every couple of weeks my printer is running out of ink and it doesn't indicate which cartridge is low. Will never get an HP printer again.

Since my printer is quite new, I'm assuming it's the ink. It also goes very quickly.

Posted .Hi Pogo, thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you are unhappy with the Page yield of your HP 62 Tri-Color Ink Cartridge. Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc. You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fastdraftmode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (ie: longer than one month). I can understand if you're upset by the length of time the cartridges lasted. Here are things that could help:
- Check to make sure the replacement cartridge you get is properly filled
- Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

I am sorry if you've had some ink drying up on you. However, unless this cartridge was damaged, and leaked, having it dry up will not damage your printer. You just need to get a fresh cartridge and install it.
According to the Best Buy site's Return & Exchange Policy information:
"If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to a Best Buy store and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). We will cover all reasonable and customary ground shipping fees."

Not Happy Not Best Buy's Fault
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased a tri-color HP cartridge No. 62. Iinstalled it, and did the alignment thing. I've only printed two or three small items that required minimal color. Today I tried to print a document with one line of red text. The red didn't show up! The printer game me a notice that the color cartridge needs to be changed again because ink is low. This cartridge was expensive and after just a few color prints which had very little red in them, the cartridge needs to be replaced again. I'm contacting HP about this issue.

What a disappointment for you! I see two factors are going on with your ink. The drying up can be changed with a few simple changes. The print quality is a complex issue that might require support.
For the drying issue, wipe the printhead with a damp cloth. Clear the coper contacts from dry ink. The printer should have a setting to run maintenance that may resolve the issue. While in the settings menu, you might want to adjust other settings to improve the print.

It worked for about 3-4 days and stopped. The printer read it as possible counterfeit cartridge which I doubt. Since I was past 15 days, store could not replace free. Nice girl gave a discount but I think policy on this is TERRIBLE. COSTCO WOULD NOT HAVE QUESTIONED IT. You should trust an old customer and help us more!
