    I am an HP fan and believe it should stay within the Dependable Family. I also save money on the XL and use my printer at least 2-3 times a week so no problem with drying out. I love using 2 cartridges instead of 4.

    I recently purchased a new HP printer - scanner. I bought this ink cartridge because it was recommended by the manufacturer, and also because the salesman said it outlasts generic ones . It was my first time installing in this printer - it was very much like my previous HP printer, so I had no problems and no ink on my hands.

    If you do the math you will determine that investing the extra $s for the XL ink cartridge cost less per page in the long run for black / white / gray scale printing then using a standard black cartridge. In my opinion by spending the extra $s up front will result in an over all savings per printed page and will be the most economical means of printing to minimize your printing costs.
