    I like using the HP ink but a couple times I had problems with it not printing and had to take it back for another one. When everything prints like it should it is very clear and precise which I like .

    They don't put the yield on the box anymore, but I know it is supposed to be several hundred pages, and I get about 200 at best. Easy to install, good quality, but it costs way too much for 200 pages.

    In my opinion, spending the money upfront is economical as it costs less per page when compared to the standard black cartridge. I have the Envy 5660 it there have been no issues.

    It's nice to have a store close by with fresh ink supplies for emergencies. Tried to get it at CVS - it was old and didn't work. Best Buy always seems to have the ink I need and it's fresh.

    I've never, ever, had a problem with a HP ink cartridge, and that's worth a premium, but, nevertheless, I consider them unnecessarily expensive; in part, I suspect, to push you into the "Instant Ink" program. When I can, I use Best Buy rewards to purchase HP cartridges and watch Amazon for occasional price reductions.
