Is the appropriate ink for my printer and last a long time

This HP ink lasts long and prints great. I have never had a bad HP cartridge like other brands. Worth getting the good stuff!

It is better than regular cartridge but still disappointing for how much more it costs.

This ink cartridge last a really long time. One of the best things about it is that when it is out of ink, HP printers let you know instead of printing "ghost like" sheets.
