This ink is priced comparatively with other retailers. In this case I purchased the ink from Best Buy because of a $5 discount certificate they had sent me. The ink arrived fine, however it took 3 days to be delivered after a promised over night delivery. And I really could have used the ink the next day. From now on I will do all of my ink purchases either thru Amazon or Staples.

I've always had HP printers. Over the years the quality has gone down as I am always having issues. The biggest problem with the new printer is these ink cartridges. Now mind you we are buying the XL which are bigger then the standard. Problem is theres just not enough ink in the cartridge. The old HP printer we owned had about three times as much ink per cartridge and yet cost the same price. Even though this is a complaint theres not much you can do about it if you own the printer that uses these. The slot is to small for anything bigger then a XL. I'd say if you prefer more ink ask Best Buy for a HP printer that has MUCH larger cartridges. If not prepare to spend $35 every 2-3 weeks. And thats just for black ink.

Nice camera but best buy doesn't stock the battery

We purchased the canon SX720HS at Best Buy. We also purchased the Battery and the chip for pictures. The saleman pick out the battery and when we got home found out it was the wrong battery. We went back and found out they don't stock the right battery for the camera. They said that we would have to purchase the battery online which would be 60 dollars plus tax online ,not good at all. We puchased the same battery online thru Walmart for Twenty dollars on line and no shipping cost. Not a good deal buying the camera from Best Buy Sorry but that is the way it is.

    Useful but entirely too expensive

Decades ago, you bought an HP LaserJet 1, 2, 3 or 4 - and bought a moderately expensive toner cartridge once or twice a year. Nowadays, you pay $40 or more for each of the XL black and/or color cartridges, and they last a month (if that). My printing habits haven't really changed (if anything, I print less than used to), but ink costs have skyrocketed. This is a business model that needs serious disrupting, HP... and your "ink subscription program" isn't it.

    HP Ink Replacement

Is it me or do these ink cartridges seem to have so much less ink than advertised? I don't do very much printing but am always surprised by how often I need to reorder ink. The ink cartridges are ridiculously expensive. HP has to be making a huge profit off their ink. Best Buy's prices for HP ink is about the same price as I can find through other sources such as Amazon so the overpricing is an HP issue.

      Hi Kim,

I regret that you have had this experience. The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry.

How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage and environmental factors. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

Good product, but horrible purchasing experience

I recently purchased HP printer cartridges at Best Buy and despite the product being great, had a horrible purchasing experience. Best Buy has a good breadth of cartridge options. But I was hassled by an overzealous salesperson who told me it was his job to talk to me when looking at other products, despite telling him three times politely that I didn't need help. I recommend buying cartridges online.

Thought we had a bad printer due to cartridge

We thought we had a bad printer because of a bad cartridge. We could not print, scan, or copy anything. We had to remove the device and re-download the software to no avail. We purchase brand vs alternative ink historically. We may reconsider after this experience. It was a complete was of money and cost us a lot of time, energy and frustration, not to mention the volume package of ink.

First Time Cartridge Defective from HP

For some unknown reason since I've been buying 62XL black cartridges I've had every other one show up as "damaged" or "defective" when they were newly installed. The retailers have replaced them when I took them back but it has been somewhat inconvenient. The ones that work are great and the XL does have a long life.

The 62 XL black cartridge does not last for the cost. I wished that while looking to replace my Epson all in one of 10 years I would have seen comments when I was checking the reviews on how expensive to use the new printer would be. The printer works good but I noticed the ink did smear a few times.

As with other ink cartridges, these things are very expensive. The benefit of "up to" 3x the ink at 2X the price remains to be seen. When I buy the 2 pack with color and bw, I always run out of bw, so this may result in less trips to buy ink?

After using only one-forth to one-third of the cartridge, the printer no longer recognized the ink and I ended up having to throw it way. Might as well purchase the non-XL ink cartridges at a cheaper cost in case this one stops being read by your printer.

This cartridge runs out of ink faster than other cartridges I have used. It may be the new printer, I will be glad when others are making this so it does not cost so much.

I expected this to give more pages but it lasted maybe 20% more than a regular cartridge. I only print regular text, no images, so it was disappointing

      Hi Dianne,

I'm sorry to hear that you received a cartridge that did not last as long as you expected. Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. More ink is also used if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.

Here are a few facts about ink usage that might help you save on ink:
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.
      - Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, which can save you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com

If you feel that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you have the option to:
      - request a replacement or refund from the seller
      - contact us if it is a defective genuine cartridge that is not replaced by the seller (and it is still within the warranty ends date on the cartridge): hp.com/contactHP

      Hi,

I am sorry that this happened to you. Usually how long a cartridge lasts depends on its usage.

You can avoid some ink usage by turning the printer off when it is not in use. However, the printer should always be turned off using the printer's power button. That will let the printer 'park' so the cartridge is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.

If you think the cartridge wasn't properly filled and don't want to try taking back to a local Best Buy, you can try contacting them about a return by mail.

According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

      Hi there,

I am sorry to find that the cartridge didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are not happy about that and about it clogging up.

It is a good practice to verify if the cartridges you receive are authentic. That is fairly easy to do if you check the things indicated at: hp.com/go/anticounterfeit
