    The printer works just fine, and the ink does what it is supposed to do, but HP gouges on printer cartridges. Best Buy always has the lowest price, but you that price is always outrageous compared to other printers; which I will pursue when this HP printer finally breaks.

    Everyone knows printer ink is terribly expensive but this printer and the ink cartridges it uses seem to be especially high cost/low yield. I would have paid a monk to transcribe my spreadsheets onto a scroll for significantly less money but I didn't have the time . . . and I am not sure where to find a monk.

    My new HP copier cartridge only went 35 pages of copies ( rated at 500) then kicked up a defective warning on the copiers window. I went through HP's check list on help but the cartridge still came up " Red check marked" on the copier window and on my computer screen. Bought replacement HP cartr., works fine now. Going to try for a refund.

    The HP 7640 Envy printer recommends the 62 black and 62 color ink cartridges. The quality of the prints is excellent. I have had HP photosmart printers in the past , and I really miss them. I hope HP can develop a newer version of their PhotoSmart printers.
