    Unfortunately, while HP professes to provide 400 printed pages for the enhanced cartridge and 190 for the regular cartridge, they obviously are not talking about full pages of printed words or diagrams. At most you may get 100-120 pages with the regular cartridge, but that is only if you use a few sentences per page. Of course, that is if the cartridge doesn't dry up before you finish using it, which is a common HP problem. On the bright side, the combined packages of color and black ink do give you a few dollars off, an otherwise, expensive convenience. But think of the $300 you spend annually on print cartridges as being an American patriot and your annual contribution to Making America Great Again.

      Hello Steve,

      I can understand if you are disappointed when the cartridge seemed to run out too quickly. The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry.

      How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.

      Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - To keep the cartridge from drying up prematurely, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.

      If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, please contact the seller.
