mis-matched order
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially I had bought TWO black, not one black, one color. I had opened the package already by the time I realized what had happened. And I double checked I was buying black, not a combo.

Printer said it is wrong cartridge in the box
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The black cartridge does indeed say "63" but when I remove the depleted "63" and put the new one in, the printer tells me that it is not the correct cartridge. Shortly afterwards I had surgery so I have not had a chance to try to return it. Very disappointed.

Posted .Hello,
Unfortunately, the printer did not recognize the cartridge. This instance is not uncommon when a customer inserts a new cartridge. Unplug the printer and restart it. If you reinsert the cartridge, the issue might be resolved. Reverting the firmware is another troubleshooting measure that helps the printer recognize the cartridge. If not, a return is the only option. I know that is a pain, especially after surgery. If there is anything else we can do, visit www.hp.com/us-en/shop/cv/ReturnsandExchanges?id=page-return-exchange-policy/.

Low page output

Posted .Hello,
I can understand if you are disappointed when the black cartridge seems to run out too quickly. How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
- Black is used a lot in almost every printout. Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
- Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, please contact the seller.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

Posted .Hello, thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you are unhappy with the page yield of your HP 63 2-Pack Ink Cartridges. Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc.You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fastdraftmode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (ie: longer than one month). charged for a 2 pack, only got black ink
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not realize I was overcharged for this purchase till today. I was charged for a 2 pack of ink (color and black), but only got black ink. And to make it worse, the black ink I bought on 2-23-20 is now empty (3-31-20) and hardly printed anything! What a waste of money! Will never buy printer ink from Bestbuy again.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this August 23 and printed very little however by today, September 13 it said "ink is Low" - how can this be? Is this a refurbished product? I don't understand how it's running out so quickly this is not a good product. Expiration date says April 2021

Posted .Hi,
I'm very sorry that you had this problem. Unless you were printing mostly high-density pages, it does seem like you should have been able to print longer.
Here are a few facts about ink usage that might help you get more copies without too much extra effort:
- Many consider the XL version of the cartridge to be a much better value.
- A high-density print (like an image or graph) will use the ink more quickly than a text-only document, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry. If you print a lot of photos and such, you will find that Instant Ink is likely to be a good option for you, since you pay by the page, not for cartridges. Details at: instantink.com
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.
It is always an option to contact the seller if you feel that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge

Posted .Hi Kim,
I'm sorry that you weren't pleased with the ink yield. There are some things you can do to make it last longer.
You can print in draft mode and perhaps use the grayscale setting on your printer. Since a little ink is used when the printer clears the nozzles during maintenance routines, turning the printer off when it is not in use can help save ink,
It is important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That way, it will 'park' the cartridges where they can protect the printhead from drying out and clogging.

Feels like fraud
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never had an ink cartridge that only lasts for a few days... I do a lot of printing but not nearly enough for these things to not last longer than a week. Ive already talked to HP and gone through all of thr printer settings with them and they insist I must just be printing more than I say. Well... no, the ink cartridge is just junk.

Posted .Hi Shay,
It concerns me that the cartridge doesn't last longer for you. Unless you are printing a lot of high-density printouts, it should last much longer for you!
Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos and graphs) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage:
- You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, which can save you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller for a replacement.
If none of those tips work, and if a defective genuine HP cartridge is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP
