The last few cartridges dried up prematurely (average printing 1-2 pages/week). Gauge for detecting ink levels has been grossly inaccurate.

I saw your review on the color cartridges. I see you commented on the black ink yields too. Your feedback on missing the old HP products is valuable to us. Relay that message to HP support at www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp. The link provided is also where you can seek help for the ink level gauge.
In addition to the tips from the color post, I would recommend paying attention to wasted copies. Print preview is especially helpful in saving ink from these copies. Specialty or thick paper depletes ink. Avoid it if plausible. Thank you for being an HP patron and I wish you success in future prints.
