An okay ink cartridge
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much choices when it comes to ink cartridges for HP printer. It does what it should. The quality is alright.

Could last longer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't seem to last that long. I like that we have the service that detects when they are low and automatically orders them for me.

Too quirky
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's jammed 4 times since installing it. I turn the printer off and back on and it works. So it's not user error

Too many ink choices
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because my printer used the original cartridge faster than I expected. Next time I might try the XP cartridge it's supposed to last longer.

great if you don't use your printer a lot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Granted, this is an ink cartridge required by my printer, but I literally needed a new cartridge within a month. I didn't think I had been printing excessively. Maybe slightly more than a normally do. But I was shocked that I had to get a new cartridge within a month. Because these cartridges are super expensive, I think I need to look at them before I buy my next printer!

Posted .Hi Julie,
I am sorry that this happened to you. Usually how long a cartridge lasts depends on its usage and high-density pages (images, graphs, cards...) will use ink up faster.
You can avoid some ink usage by turning the printer off when it is not in use. However, the printer should always be turned off using the printer's power button. That will let the printer 'park' so the cartridge is protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
If you think the cartridge wasn't properly filled and don't want to try taking back to a local Best Buy, you can try contacting them about a return by mail.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

Ok ink
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not bad but if you don’t use your printer often, the cartridges get clogged and don’t work which is frustrating

HP 63 ink black
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the ink works good. What I have an issue with is the capacity. Supposedly you get 190 pages at standard yield. I am guessing there standard yield is considered printing a page with your name on it. If you are printing anything other than a almost blank sheet of paper you will be lucky to get a third of what they have listed.

Posted .Hello,
I am sorry you have had this experience. I can understand your disappointment when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly.
The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry. Doing high-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry. Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
- Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
- Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves
You can make returns or exchanges either to the store or by mail if the poor performance seems to be due to a defect. Information about that can be found at:

OK cartridge for minimal printing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have bought the high capacity cartridge for the extra money. This cartridge is already near empty.
