This is my fourth cartridge for 1180 copies printed with first 3 cartridges - it’s almost as if this has been recycled. I know it isn’t Best Buy but hp, but you are selling them

      Hi Kathy,

I am sorry to hear that the cartridge didn't give you many prints. Unless you are printing a lot of high-density printouts, it seems like it should have lasted longer for you!

Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos and graphs) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.

That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage:
      - You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, which can save you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com

When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller for a replacement.

If none of those tips work, and if a defective genuine HP cartridge is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

lasted little more than two weeks with relatively light printing. Unlike what I get from instant ink. This was three times the price I pay monthly and was worth less than what I paid by three times.

      Hi,

I am sorry that the cartridge didn't last as long as you thought it should. Most people who do a lot of high-density printing will find that Instant Ink is a better value since you only pay by the page. Also, it is more convenient since you aren't paying for cartridges (just the ink inside) and new ones are sent automatically.

The estimates of pages printed by the regular cartridges are based on standards set for the industry. How a cartridge will perform in your own printer will vary according to usage and environmental factors.

The seller is responsible for the product they sent to you. If it was low on ink when it arrived, or if a defect is stopping it from printing, contact the seller about that.

According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."
