It works - it fits exactly what I need to get my printer back online and printing again. However, the price is somewhat dissappointing..

I am cancelling my direct order because this cartridge only lasts for 30 prints! I am teaching from home due to Covid and in 2 months an not even 90 sheets of math I have gone thru 3 of these!

      Hi,

I am sorry that you are getting such poor results from the cartridges. You should be able to get any more sheets of math from them!

Ink usage of the cartridge (unless it was damaged or defective) will determine how long it lasts in your particular printer. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Most people have found that the XL version of the cartridges are a much better value.
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black, and colored ink
      - Shut the printer down between uses; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Consider getting Instant Ink. The subscription plans let you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com

When a cartridge is low on ink to begin with, or it appears that poor page yield was due to a defect, contact the seller. According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

      Hope this helps you out!

Only was able to use my printer with this cartridge a couple of times. Evidently it had dried out. Was unable to use and tried numerous ways to activate it. Very disappointed.

      Hi,

I'm sorry that your ink appears to have been used up too quickly. Unless you were printing mostly high density prints, it does seem like you should have been able to print longer.

Here are a few facts about ink usage that might help:
      - A high-density print (like a photo or graph) will use the ink more quickly than a text-only document, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.

If you feel that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you have the option to:
      - request a replacement or refund from the seller
      - contact us if it is a defective genuine cartridge that is not replaced by the seller (and it is still within the warranty ends date on the cartridge): hp.com/contactHP

These just do not seem to last like they use to. I feel like we are always buying ink now. Not sure if it’s drying out more in the winter months or what.

      Hi Jack,

I am sorry that the cartridge didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are not happy, but rest assured that we take your feedback very seriously.

Perhaps you were printing denser printouts with this cartridge. Ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

If the poor performance you experienced appears to be due to a defective cartridge, please check about returning it to the seller.

I purchased this and the color ink cartridge as back up for when the ink in my current printer ran out (instead of being stuck with no ink). When the time came for me to use it, I got a few sheets printed great, and then afterwards, I got weird faded (partially printed) sheets. It seems as though the ink dried out, it just wasn't working. Super upsetting since I started using this after the expiration of my best buy return date.

      Hi Danny,

I am very sorry that you had this problem. That sounds disappointing.

Unless there was something wrong with a cartridge, ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:

      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

If the poor performance appears to be due to a defective cartridge, return it to the Best Buy outlet you bought it from.
