It didn’t last very long. It had been used. If I hadn’t been in the middle of a huge printing project, I would have returned it. It wasn’t worth my time and energy. But next time I buy anything from Bestbuy, I’ll open it before I leave the store.

I am sorry that the cartridges didn’t work when they weren't in use for long. However, I hope to help you figure out how to solve that.
It is a good idea to shut the printer down when it isn't going to be used for a long while. That can save ink and electricity. However, it is very important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ the printhead so that the tiny inkjet nozzles are protected from excessive drying.

You pay all this money for a cartridge and they block you from using it.

It left a huge black line at the bottom of my paper. I brought it back to the store and the manager would not exchange it. I will never shop at Best Buy ever again

I certainly understand your frustration. The first step is to check the pages in your printer to ensure there isn't a black line. If there isn't, check the print rollers inside the printer. My apologies for this happening to you. I can understand if you are disappointed when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly.
Unless a cartridge is faulty, ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Consider using XL cartridges. Most people find they are a much better value
- Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves
If the poor performance appears to be due to a defective cartridge, please consider returning it to the seller.

I can understand if you are disappointed with the cartridge. You might have better luck with the XL version of the cartridge. Most think it is a better value.
How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
- Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.

Never in BB stores!!!!

While free shipping is good if I go to a BB store tor ink I might very well see something else I need like an expensive TV or appliance but BB loses our because I will go to Lowe’s or HD now!
