      Hi there,

I noticed you only received one-hundred pages from the cartridge. That is unfortunate. I want you to feel you got everything out of the product.

Multiple variables determine the page yields received by customers. Since the cartridge is black ink, the best ink-saving mechanism limits printing time. Print preview eliminates scrap copies and wasted ink. Shut the printer down to rest the cartridge.

Beyond those suggestions, the XL cartridges are an excellent buy for more ink.

      Hi Alee,

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the page yield. The estimates of pages printed are based on industry standards. How the cartridge will perform in real life situations will vary quite a bit.

Provided the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.

That said, I have a few tips that might help:
      - You might use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings whenever possible to save ink.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ itself so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, ultimately saving you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
      - If you suspect there was something wrong with the cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller.
      - contact us if it is a defective genuine cartridge that is not replaced by the vendor (they are still within the warranty ends date on the cartridges): hp.com/contactHP

      Hi there,

I am sorry that you were not pleased with the number of pages produced by the standard cartridge.

Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is warm and dry.

Here are some things that could help:
      - Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
      - Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves.

I bought this extra ink for my Office Manager for a printer for Adminstrative Secretary's Day. What a joke. The printer is missing a part and won't work, and the ink is useless. Now I have to try and return this thing in the middle of a pandemic. Bad situation. Best Buy and HP don't send out broken product.

      Hi,

I regret that you have had this experience. I can understand if you were disappointed when it seemed to run out too quickly.

High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
      - Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves

The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. If the poor performance appears to be due to the individual cartridge itself, consider contacting the seller.

I hardly use my printer. Maybe a few pages a year and the ink always dries out before I get my money's worth. I'm not sure if it's the ink or the printer, but the printer is new so...i am guessing that it's the ink just drying out too quickly

      Hey there Candy,

Your experience with dried ink cartridges is unfortunate. As a valued customer, we want you to get the full utility of the product. Your assessment of the ink cartridge situation sounds correct. Fortunately, there are a few remedies to try.

      - Sometimes, dried ink can be removed through gentle cleaning of the copper contacts in the printhead.

      - Turn off the printer when idle. If your printer is on but not being used, the cartridge is exposed to air and outside sources. Turning the printer off for long periods helps if only printing periodically.

      Hi,

I am sorry that the cartridge was didn't last long. It seems like you should have been able to print more.
