The heads or whatever dry out before you even get to use all the ink inside. Basically they stop working when your printer still says you have 50% left. I didn't get a dud this happens every time.

I am sorry that you had this experience. That is a common problem that can be prevented most of the time.
It is probable that the cartridge inkjets are getting clogged after time, usually because the printer is turned off without using the power button. While it is a good idea to shut the printer down between uses, it is very important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridge is protected from excessive drying which leads to clogging
You can regain some usage of the clogged-up cartridges though. There is a cleaning routine available from the printer's menu that you can use to clear out the inkjets. The routine might need to be run more than once to clean out the clogs completely and get the ink flowing freely again.
The seller is responsible for the quality of what is sent. Contact the seller if you find the cartridge itself is faulty.

I agree a typical cartridge should last longer than thirty-seven pages. I understand this product missed your expectations.
There are several reasons the page yield might be low. If you print photos or images, the ink will run out quickly. Printing a bunch of pages at once could have caused a clog. In this case, the cartridge is not empty. It simply needs cleaning. Same for a dry cartridge. Applying a damp cotton swab to the printhead's copper contacts will work.
