From a quality standpoint, the ink cartridge is fine, but it is not worth the price. This has to be a planned marketing ploy by HP to sell its printers at a more than fair price, and then gouge the consumer on the ink purchases.

      Hi Tom,

I am sorry that the cartridge didn’t seem to be a good buy. I can understand if you are not happy, but rest assured that we take your feedback very seriously.

Your ink usage determines how long each cartridge lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

If poor performance you experience appears to be due to a defective or counterfeit cartridge, please check about returning it to the seller.

Many find that Instant Ink is a good deal. You pay for the pages printed rather than by the cartridge. Details are available at instantink.com

I use my printer a lot for work so I purchased the XL ink cartridge with my new printer immediately knowing I would need it once the demo ink ran out. However, once I went to install it right out of the package it would not work. My printer would not recognize the ink cartridge, which was made for the HP printer. It kept giving me an error as if I installed it incorrectly (which I did not). It wouldn't even read the color ink which still had ink available. I had to install the empty ink cartridge just to be sure I didn't mess things up. I'm not sure if they gave me recycle ink or what, but I'm definitely taking it back. The printer companies want you to recycle their ink, but then the recycled ink never seems to work with the printers. It's horrible!!!

these ink cartridges always dried up before empty. we used this for a printer and home and the port would dry up quickly, trapping the rest of the ink inside and rendered useless. for something this pricey, I would expect HP to come up with something that wouldn't dry out if it sat unused in the printer for more than 2 weeks. ended up throwing out the printer even though it still worked, because of this. we ended-up switching over to a laserjet printer.

      Hello Timmy,

I can understand if you are disappointed with the cartridges you were sent, but I might know a solution

It is likely that the cartridges were clogged and not letting the ink through the tiny inkjets. There is a cleaning routine available from the printer's menu that you can use to clear them out. The routine might need to be run more than once to clean out the clogs completely.

If you only print occasionally, it is a good idea to shut the printer down between uses. However, it is important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridge is protected from excessive drying which leads to clogging

The seller is responsible for the quality of what is sent. Contact the seller when a cartridge is not satisfactory.
