Your better off buying the generic printer cartridge. I have never gotten near the estimated print sheets on anything HP sells.

      Hello,

I can understand if you are disappointed when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly. The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry.

How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
      - Black is used a lot in almost every printout. Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
      - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com

If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, please contact the seller.

According to the Best Buy website: ""If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).""

      Hi Rick,

I regret that you have had this experience. I can understand if you were disappointed when the cartridge seemed to run out too quickly.

Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

If the poor performance appears to be due to the individual cartridge itself, consider returning it to the seller.

      Hi Manu,

There are two possibilities. One is that the printer didn't register the ink inside the cartridge. This is the most likely scenario. The other possibility is that the cartridge contained no ink due to an error or leak. You could try to reinsert the cartridge after restarting the printer to get it to register. You also may start a return. Returns to Best Buy go through www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/.

      Hello,

I am very sorry that you received a cartridge that was defective. I can understand why you rated it so low!

If a cartridge does not work properly, you are always free to return it to the seller for a replacement or refund.

Also, if it is a genuine cartridge (and still within the warranty date on the cartridge), you can contact HP support for a replacement: hp.com/contactHP

      Hi Joy,

I regret that you have had this experience. I can understand if you were disappointed.

Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves

The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. If you believe there was something wrong with the cartridge that affected its performance you should contact them about it.

      Hi Demmy,

I am sorry that you had this experience. I can understand if you were disappointed.

Ink usage usually determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

You might consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value. Also, if you print a lot of photos or other high-density printouts, Instant Ink might be a good option for you. You only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves.
