Black cartridge a dud

The printer told me it couldn't communicate with the cartridge and suggested I replace it. I did replace it, at a cost of $27.55, and the printer works with the new cartridge. This is the second time this has happened. (I haven't tried the multi-color cartridge, but it's probably OK.)

Fairly nice color
