This ink had plenty of ink left in the cartridge and it dried out for some weird reason. The ink was left in the whole time from start to finish but still dried out. Wish ink worked the same way as tires. A discount for bad quality.

      Hi,

I am sorry to find that you had this problem, but I might have some advice to help.

It is likely that the cartridge got clogged and is not letting the ink through the tiny inkjets. When there are clogs the cleaning routine from the printer's menu might need to be run more than once to clean out the clogs completely.

If you only print occasionally, it is a good idea to shut the printer down between uses. It is important to always use the printer's power button to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridge is protected from excessive drying which leads to clogging

The seller is responsible for the quality of what is sent. Contact the seller when a cartridge is not satisfactory.

      Hi,

I am very sorry that this is happening to you. It can be frustrating to not have cartridges last long.

If it appears that the poor performance you got is due to a defect or you were sent a cartridge already low on ink, please contact the seller.

According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. Bought not even a year ago, because the printer isn't even a year old and the ink either ran out or dried up after less than 50 pages. Had to buy this replacement because the ink in the printer came dried out. HP is by far the worst printer company I've experienced

      Hi Jeff,

I am very sorry that you had this experience. The cartridges supplied with a new printer are used to initialize the printer and usually do not last as long as the replacements you'll buy.

Unless there was something wrong with a cartridge, ink usage determines how long it lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

If the poor performance appears to be due to a defective cartridge, please consider returning it to the seller.

Color Ink Cartridge, after less than 6 months and very little use, began only printing magenta. Replaced color cartridge-still just printed magenta... Printer problem or cartridge problem? Either way, extremely disappointed.

      Hello Mr. M,

It's unfortunate these cartridges are not working well for you. While there are some factors we cannot change, I can help you make the cartridges last longer. Turn down the print quality setting on the printer. This action will conserve ink, although the print may become lighter. Try to use print preview as much as plausible.

      Hello,

I am sorry that the cartridges you received performed so poorly. Assuming that they were full when inserted, it does seem like you should have been able to make more copies.

When it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller.

      Hello there Rolo,

Several factors cause the ink to harden or dry. It’s a hassle and not our intended goal for our customers. Having a close expiration date is just one factor. Around this time of year, temperatures rise. Leaving the printer on causes the heat to reach the ink printhead. Watching the humidity is essential too. Cleaning the printhead with a damp cloth helps.

      Hi there Soroam,

This case is not the result we want our customers to have. I grasp your strong sentiment about the product, which is logical considering the problem you faced. Maybe you have come across a defective cartridge. Most likely, you haven't heard our vital ink-boosting advice.

Color cartridges are used less frequently, causing extra drying. Humidity and heat impact the cartridges. It is suggested to keep the room where the printer is located at room temperature. Cleaning the printhead of the cartridge with a warm cloth removes clogs and can help cartridges function. As a general tip, employing draft mode before printing helps save ink.

      Hi,

I can understand if you are disappointed when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly.

How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
      - Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
      - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page and can save you a lot, especially if you print high-density frequently. Check out the details at: instantink.com

If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, please contact the seller.

You can return it or exchange it either to the store or by mail. Information about that can be found at:
