In two or three months these cartridge print heads will dry up and stop printing (the print heads are part of the cartridges). At that time I'll clean the print head ends of the cartridges with my ultrasonic cleaner for 5 minutes in a warm water bath. That process usually gets the heads to print for the next few months.

They're easy to install and perform okay (decent print quality) as long as they work, but become quite expensive due to frequent need for replacement. We're sorry we bought the printer that requires them. Have had to buy multiple replacements [at other stores] since this purchase, and this is merely for casual home printing.

I am sorry to find that the cartridges didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are not happy, but rest assured that we take your feedback very seriously.
Ink usage usually determines how long a cartridge lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves
