Your experience was lacking, but I think I have some ideas for you. First, check out deals and specials from Best Buy. If you receive a defective cartridge, return it immediately. Perform the automatic cartridge maintenance option. We suggest you use HP cartridges. These cartridges work better with the product. I hope you consider giving HP another chance.

I was ready to return it, when I learned I couldn't get a replacement right away. I then limped along using Black Ink Only and so far I am able to get reasonable copies. Just a fluke I'm imagine.

I am very sorry that your cartridge did not seem to work well. I can imagine how disappointing that must have been.
I would encourage you to contact the seller when a cartridge is low on ink to begin with, or it appears that poor page yield was due to a defect.

Ink had at least 3/4 of ink still available to use. I’ve done everything I usually do to clean print cartridges, which usually works with print streaks and nothing works. This is a first that I was not able to fix a print cartridge issue. I definitely won’t be buying the XL cartridges anymore, I’ll stick to the cheaper standard cartridge.

After having a cartridge with weak print quality, I understand your feelings. The print quality might have hindered your work or school printing. We take into account that our customers depend on our products. Let's try to resolve the print quality together.
It appears you have already completed the printer maintenance. Manually cleaning the print rollers might decrease spotting or streaking. I would also check the printhead for a clog. If you wipe the printhead gently with a damp cloth, any dried ink will be eliminated. This type of outcome is common when a printer is lightly used.
