Disappointed- NOT HP compatible?

When I went to replace the color cartridge the printer kept showing an "incompatible" message and stated that the printer could not recognize the color cartridge. When I put in another HP color cartridge it was fine. I am thinking the color cartridge was NOT HP brand but labeled as such. Too late to return, so there goes half of the purchase price down the toilet.

I can explain what likely occurred here. I want to apologize for the disruption to your printing. Sometimes, a new cartridge is not recognized by the printer. Reinserting the cartridge after restarting the printer usually resolves the error message.
