I am sorry that you are not happy with the cartridges. That does sound frustrating.
Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage:
- You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.

Says it could print up to 120 pages in black, and i was only able to get about 20 pages of black ink. Ill rather continue buying aftermarket cartridges for a better price and better quality. It can be frustrating to not have cartridges last long. Most people do think that the XL version is a better value, but it does seem that even the standard version should have printed more than that.
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you were sent a cartridge already low on ink, please contact the seller.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

This situation is a stumbling block but can be resolved. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. If you got a page yield of 30-60 copies, there is room for improvement. First, take a look inside the printer. Any leaks will drain the cartridge, so watch for those. Next, try wiping the printhead with a damp cloth. If the ink was purchased through Best Buy, a return is allowed if it meets the Best Buy policy. I am apologetic that you were denied a return. If you bought the cartridge in the US, it should be US ink. I suggest reading the information at www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/. For future ordering, reference the product information from your old cartridge to order the new one.
