Posted .Hi,
It can be frustrating to not have cartridges last long. I can understand if you are disappointed.
Normally, ink usage determines how long a cartridge lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is very absorbent and the air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
- Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
- Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
- Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you were sent a cartridge already low on ink, please contact the seller.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

Ink!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is what it says! Ink. Be careful when you put it in. Once you put HP ink cartridges into a printer, it will only work with that printer.

Get the XL if you print a lot
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After I put these cartridges in and do a few printing jobs, it says that it’s low again! I would recommend getting the 65XL at least in the black if you print regularly or don’t want to deal with changing the cartridge frequently

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.everything was fine at first now all of a sudden the black and color cartridge do not talk to each other and will not print. they will when I take them out and put back in then they work, first time i have ever had this happen. Started when I installed the one I bought from Best Buy.

Posted .Hi Mccoy,
Your situation is explainable. Sometimes, the printer stops recognizing the cartridge. Turning off the printer, restarting, and reinserting the cartridge makes a significant difference. If that doesn't work in the future, revert to the most recent printer update. If the cartridges are defective, you may return them. I wish you luck with your next set of cartridges.

Necessary but too little ink.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prints beautifully but the cartridges barely last. Cost way more for ink than the printer.

Posted .Hi,
I'm sorry that the cartridges don't seem to last very long. Perhaps I can give you some tips to save on ink and that will help.
Here are a few facts:
- A high-density print (like a photo) will use the ink more quickly than a low-density print (a text-only document), especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry
- Instant Ink might be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, ultimately saving you money. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save ink (particularly colored ink).
- Shutting the printer down between uses can help. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.
- If you suspect there was something wrong with the cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller.
If a problem seems to be a genuine HP cartridge that is defective, that it is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP
