The dual pack color and black printer carteidge is a good buy for the cost. You save money by buying the dual pack instead of buying them individually. It meets my printing needs and has good quality color ink.

      Hi there Victoria,

I am sorry the cartridges are not cost-effective. We aim to make a quality product. If the regular cartridges are not sufficient, try the XL cartridges. I noticed you are using 65 cartridges. Those cartridges are an older model. Newer models are compatible with larger cartridges. Thanks for shopping at HP.

Black cartridge worked, color was defective. The quality control with HP is frustrating. I have worked on computers and printers for most of my adult life, so I know how to troubleshoot such things. It was simply defective.

Ink is a rip off. Way too expensive. It runs out too quickly or it dies up so you need to spend a lot to buy it. Maybe get 3rd party cartridge.

Hello Jon, I understand your feelings about the product. I hope to improve the customer experience for you. I think turning off the printer whenever possible will prevent the ink from drying out. I also suggest you check each cartridge for clogs and clean off the residue from the printhead. The print cartridge level occasionally reads incorrectly. To counter this, take out the cartridge and reinsert it. Be wary of using specialty paper, as it may use extra ink. I am sincerely sorry you are dismayed with the product and hope these tips help. -Amanda HP Care hp.com/support/ HP

      Hi there Suz,

You are right. I hope to explain how ink cartridges last. If you only print a few pages a month, these cartridges certainly should last more than a month. However, if you print two hundred pages a week, these cartridges will not last that long. It all depends on your activity.

It also depends on what you print. Images, for example, deposit a tremendous amount of ink. The advertisements are based on an average. Every cartridge lasts differently, based on many factors. We would love to hear from you at www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/if you have further questions.

It is ridiculous how quickly ink is used, and still so expensive! It’s a necessary thing, so the companies can be free to gouge us for this necessity...criminal!

      Hello there Kathleen,

Thirty copies are not quite enough. If you cannot print in color, I could also help you troubleshoot this situation. My first thought is that you were printing photos or items that use a lot of ink. If not, was the cartridge full when you started printing? A defective cartridge is another possibility. Your printer cannot print colors because both cartridges need to be printable for the printer to run. It's the design of HP printers.

So I purchased a brand new printer maybe two months prior and went to get new ink simple enough and when I put the cartridge in it said it was still empty so I took it back and got a replacement Best Buy was super helpful and when I replaced them again I got the same empty signal so I then went and bought the exact same printer and put the cartridge in and got the same signal so HP has a lot of problems as I’m stuck with $50 worth of ink I can’t even use now!

      Hi B,

I'm sorry to hear that you've had this experience. It sounds like your printer is not the problem.

If you are buying refills, that could be what is causing this. The ink gauge can't read ink levels on refills. If they are genuine, original cartridges, then they are probably actually empty. You can verify if a cartridge is genuine at: hp.com/go/anticounterfeit

It is always an option to contact the seller if this was caused by a defective cartridge.
