    When preparing to print envelopes for my Christmas cards this year, I realized that the ink in my HP printer was dry. The level was almost full, but nothing transferred to paper. The sales guy at BB said that this happens if you don't use the printer for awhile. Just one more reason to ditch the HP printer.

      Hello Scott,

      I am sorry that this happened to you. it is probable that your cartridges need to be cleaned. Your printer should have an automatic routine to do that. Check the user guide, if you don't know how to start the cleaning.

      If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let the printer 'park' so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying. That can cause clogs to form in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.

    Works well as expected, when new. If you leave it unused for a few months, it dries up or something and you will need to buy a new one. Ridiculous.

    So I bought this ink cartridge for my printer. After installing it I realized it was the wrong ink for the printer I have. I returned the same day to be informed that I was not able to return nor exchange it. I was uoset because I had called the store and they said that they would be able to exhange it for the correct ink. But at the store they told me that hey couldnt do anything and that they dont carry the ink that I need. Well i had bought a colored and black ink cartridge and basically it was money wasted, the store couldnt do anything about it and they dont carry the ink ink I need. Well, office depot has a new customer now. So before you buy ink at best buy make sure you get the correct one or they will not be able to exchange it or refund your money.
