Quickly depleted even draft mode copy. Haiz! Have to buy several times to complete my only about 100 pages paper work. Also needed to buy colored ink to pair this blank ink before it prints. Too expensive.

      Hi,

I am sorry that your cartridges don't seem to last long enough. I can understand if you are irritated by that.

Actually, your printer will print without the tricolor cartridge. You have to remove it and the printer will show an error message. You can ignore it and print in just black and gray, if you wish.

This prints like 15 pages and runs out. It's such a scam to get people to continuously buy ink at an insane frequency.

      Hi DD,

I am sorry that your cartridge didn't print as much as you thought it should. You might be more pleased with the XL rather than the standard tricolor cartridge. Most people consider those a better value.

High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

If you do a lot of high-density printing, you might want to consider using the XL cartridges, or perhaps Instant Ink where you pay by the page rather than for the cartridges.

I had to buy this despite the previous cartridge still having ink in it, the printer is generally reliable but I decided to finish up with this last one and switch to a Laser printer. Chances are the cartridge just decided it was 'expired' lol Now that the price for those and Eco Tank type printers is either comparable or more reasonable, I wouldn't recommend using old printers using exploitatively priced cartridges anymore.

I cant believe that I bought this cartdrige in May and its out!! I have barely printed anything! Next time, I'll keep a close account of how many pages I print. I swear I have not used it on more than 25 pages!

      Hello,

I am sorry that you encountered this problem with the cartridge. I am very sorry to hear about this.

Normally, ink usage determines how long a cartridge lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is very absorbent and the air is dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
      - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com

If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you were sent a cartridge already low on ink, please contact the seller.

According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

Easy replanish program is good, but the only thing is that these cartridges are too small and orders are too frequent. If there is an option for xl cartridges I’ll be more satisfied. Thank you

      Hello there,

I am sure replacing the cartridges was an extra step in your day. I am sorry that happened to you! Let's go through some troubleshooting items.

First, check the ink level in the printer. Run the printer maintenance option from the settings menu. Inspect the cartridge and the print rollers. Use a damp cloth to clean both items.

Restart the printer and see if it works. If not, contact us at www.support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/.

I use my printer for school and don't really need a lot of color, but when I do, about every other month, I need to buy a new cartridge. It lasts the one time, maybe 10 pages, then it's done. Maybe it works better if you need it more?
