In the summer, cartridges are more likely to dry out. I see you are not getting the results you desire from the cartridge. Our printers require both color and black ink cartridges. A significant way to save is to avoid using the color ink unless the printer requires it. The other trick is a printer shutdown. Shutdowns cover the cartridge printhead, protecting it from drying.

It can be frustrating to not have cartridges last long. I can understand if you are disappointed.

How a cartridge will perform is affected by several variables, including the surrounding environment and the density of the prints. High-density prints (such as greeting cards, posters, images and graphs) will run a cartridge out faster, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the air is dry.

Some things that might result in ink savings:
- Using the printer's draft mode can stretch out both black and colored ink
- Turn off the printer between uses; however, always use the printer's power button to shut it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ in a way that protects the cartridges from drying and clogging up.
- Think about enrolling in Instant Ink. Subscription plans allow you to pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com

I noticed you are not getting the results you desire. I agree your current results are a little low.

Are you printing lots of tables or graphics?
What about photos?

Those all use more ink than the average page. I also see you are using the regular 67 cartridges. Try to use the XL version instead. You might see a big difference in results.
