HP printers use to much ink.

This ink didn't last a week. I purchased 5 orders of it from March 4 to April 8. Finally I realized I purchased more ink than I paid for the printer I ordered me an Epson printer, which uses way less ink. HP products are not worth the headaches and price.

      Hi,

I am sorry to find that the cartridges didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are not happy about that.

Ink usage generally determines how long it last. High-density prints (like images and graphs) use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.

Things that might help you to save money on ink:
      - Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
      - Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

      Hi,

Finding the correct cartridge is challenging. If you did not save the previous cartridge, there are ways to find the information on the HP site.

Since you purchased from Best Buy, the return site is www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/. If you are searching for the right cartridge, use the printer model number. This action will prevent future returns.

The reason for the one star rating is due to an error on my part. I thought I bought the HP 65 black cartridge. After several attempts at printing with negative results, I removed the cartridge to take a look at it. At that point I realized I purchased the wrong cartridge. It happens

I purchased this ink thinking it would last 500 sheets, I am on 47th sheet and can not read it . It is already dry. And too late to return. I would rate this a junk and not what it states it does.

      Hello there,

I am very sorry that your black cartridge wasn't a good one. It does seem like it should have printed much more.

The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is extra absorbent and the air is warm and dry.

Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
      - Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out black and colored ink
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
      - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page and can save you a lot, especially if you print high-density frequently. Check out the details at: instantink.com

Horrible don’t buy hp printer or ink. I purchased and can’t even use it because I’ve got to be enrolled in some kind of auto delivery ink supply. Absolutely scam and now I’ve got ink, a printer and no way to print anything.

      Hello,

I can understand if you are disappointed with the cartridge. You might have better luck with the XL version of the cartridge. Most think it is a better value.

How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your usage.

      - Instant Ink lets you pay by the page and can save you a lot, especially if you print high-density frequently. Check out the details at: instantink.com

Contact the seller when poor performance seems to be due to a defect. Information about returns or exchanges (either to the store or by mail) can be found at:

      Hi there,

I can understand if you are disappointed when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly. I can understand if you are unhappy about that.

If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect or you got a cartridge that was already low on ink, please contact the seller.

The printer did not recognize the ink cartridge and gave a message that it is counterfeit. I was able to print using the ink. The printer was not displaying ink level. The product did not come in good package. I am not sure how to identify if it's a counterfeit product.

      Hi,

I am very sorry that your purchase was not in good condition. If the printer identifies a cartridge as counterfeit, that is usually the case. Also, if ink levels are not displayed, the cartridge is probably a refill or remanufactured. The printer is not able to gage the levels from those.

Counterfeit and used cartridges can be hard to identify. It is a good practice to verify if the cartridges you receive are authentic. Information on how to identify a counterfeit product is available at:
      hp.com/go/anticounterfeit

You can return this cartridge either to the store or by mail. According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. Hi,

What a disappointment! I am sorry you have had to manage this situation.

To ensure the cartridge is defective, manually clean the printhead and copper contacts. I also recommend looking for a leak inside the printer. As a precautionary measure, clean the print rollers as well.

If those measures are ineffective at solving the issue, return processing happens at this site, https://www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260800050014/. Never hesitate to reach out to HP support. We are here to help you.

      Hi,

The black cartridges should be a seamless experience. I am glad the color cartridges didn't give you trouble. Since you use the black cartridges more frequently, then it is essential to clean the printhead frequently. Cleaning is either done manually or with automatic printing maintenance. If you can, turn off the printer often to give it a break.
