hp 901 black cartridge

The first one, when opened and installed on the printer, told me that there was a problem with the cartridge and to check my manual. Nothing I did worked. Never got it to work or be accepted by the printer. Opened the second cartridge and it installed just fine. So now I have purchased one cartridge for the price of two. What a deal.
