And I try not to use color often because of it. I can print a page with all black writing and logo five times and then my printer will say replace ink soon.

Avoiding color printing is a great start to saving money. It is not the only option to extend the life of the cartridges. Unplugging and shutting down the printer helps the cartridges last longer. Depending on how big the logo is, it could be wasting a lot of ink.
Depending on your printer, you may still have ink after the warning. Sometimes, the warning comes up long before you run out, so you have time to buy another cartridge.

Run out fast, even when mostly printing in B&W

It is so crazy, especially since I rarely print anything in color and the black ink lasts a lot longer. Looking forward to investing in a better printer with regular cartridges bc these are garbage.

I am sorry to find that the cartridges didn’t last long for you. I can understand if you are not happy about that.
Things that might help you to save money on ink:
- Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
- Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible
- Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page, not for the cartridges themselves

You have to print everything black and white with this printer, and even then, ink quantity is horrible.

I am sorry that it seemed like you couldn't print much with the cartridges. You might find that the XL version of the cartridges are a better value.

The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. When you receive a cartridge that is low to begin with, or doesn't work long because of a defect, check about returning it.

But, one must be quite careful when pulling off the wrapping so that the locking lever won’t be pulled off. Happened to me and the expensive cartridge was just so much junk.
