1. Avoid photos.
2. Avoid overloading the page with text.
3. Use thinner paper.

We ran out of ink and needed to buy a cartridge before the new one came in the mail. This cartridge ran out of ink after maybe 100 pages. It is ridiculous how much more you pay for these cartridges in the store and how little ink they hold!

I apologize the results from the new cartridges aren't lasting as long as your old printer. There are a couple of reasons you are getting these results. First, keep in mind that different print jobs result in different page yields. If you print irregularly, I suggest taking a damp cloth to clean the cartridges. Automatic printer maintenance will work as well. Lastly, monitor the temperature in the room.

Cartridge shelf life is a valid concern for many customers. I understand it is important to you. If you are unsatisfied with your results, start using print preview. Your results will improve as you catch errors before printing. Check the type of paper in the printer. The impact on printing is more considerable with thicker paper types.
