It was the correct size and type, but I think it was expired or had exceeded its shelf life. At the time of purchase, the BestBuy representative handed me a beat up box. He seemed to think the ink was still in good condition despite the poor condition of the packaging. I made the mistake of taking his word. I later noticed that the date on the cartridge was nearing so I think it was expired or damaged. I have since tried another ink cartridge in the same printer and it worked fine.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.product bought in april and package opened in October...the ink was spotty and cartridge didn't work..didn't know there was a "shelf life" for ink cartridges...BB gave me a hard time returning product. learned my lesson...don't buy the product just because there is a deal...make sure you are ready to use it and watch out for BB's return policy.

I had to wait for it to be shipped to my home a week after I really needed it. Then, I was advised to go to your competitor Office Depot to purchase the color pack...WOW!

Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc. You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fast draft mode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (i.e.: longer than one month). Not best Buy's fault but poor quality from HP. This is the first time this has happened to me but will be the last.
