    I've used refillable and off-brand cartridges, but they don't work nearly as well. I wish these were less expensive and lasted longer, but doesn't everybody?

    As is most company's making a killing on their water based ink with a few minerals and such thrown in, HP has long been the leader in these tactics. It's a shame that HP can"t lead the way in lowering the price of ink, but this is where they make their money, so they say. Quality control would also be nice as I recently replaced the yellow, ran two hundred pages of mostly black with a very few color, and now it's telling me the yellow is low.

    It's ink. Even with the discount ink is very expensive. But it is what it is, you have to have ink.
