HP ink failure
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HP ink does not last nearly as long as advertised . I hardly use color printing and now after 3 months all color cartridges show "depleted" . You can only use HP brand ink t=in their printers , so it is a rip off.

Posted .Hi David,
I am sorry that your color cartridges seem to have been depleted too soon. That can be frustrating, but perhaps I can help you avoid this happening in the future.
When you want to print in black and white, you can change the settings to print black only. That will ensure no color is being used during printing. Even so, you will still (very rarely) have to change a color cartridge because the tiny inkjet nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper will clog unless they are cleared regularly. When you are not using a color, the printer will have to use a drop of ink during maintenance to clear those nozzles. Not doing so could ruin the printhead inside the printer, causing costly repairs.
If you only print occasionally, it is a good idea to shut the printer down between uses. However, it is important to always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the printhead is protected from excessive drying which leads to clogging of the inkjet nozzles.

Posted .Hi there,
We appreciate your feedback on the half-full cartridges. I apologize for the circumstances, as it must have impacted your day. If you receive half-filled cartridges, the regular recommendation is to return them. Best Buy is the vendor in this case. The Best Buy policy, www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/, does not allow returns if the product is opened from the packaging. Reach out to Best Buy at https://www.bestbuy.com/contact-us to contact them.
