    As I've said before, the XL cartridges are an excellent choice. The HP brand XL cartridges actually do last much longer than the regular cartridges.

    Get decent "mileage" out of the ink capacity. Prints well with no splotches, ghosting, or shadows, although that is probably more of an issue with the printer than the ink.

    HP original ink performs well but is pricey. I've tried reloading with aftermarket inks but have had an occasional issue with that. Catching the ink on sale takes some edge off of the cost. Buying a new HP printer pushed me into the 952 ink cartridge, which was much more expensive than the previous cartridges that the older printer used. An entire set of cartridges cost similar to the new printer cost.

    more cost effective and fits nicely in the same space as the regular size version, but lasts twice as long. I only buy HP ink, as it works the best and doesn't hurt the printer.

    This is good quality HP ink. The XL cartridge has about double the ink in it when compared with the regular cartridges but you don’t pay double the price.
