I wanted a wireless printer and this one fits the bill - easy to install and it simply works. I wanted to stay with Canon printers, but they've gotten very cheaply built lately. This one is going with my niece to college and had it tested with her laptop before she goes and it was a no-sweat install if you follow the instructions and know about wireless networks.

Overall this printer is great value for money, It also scans and copies. It prints around 5ppm and that covers all my basic needs. The next printer up the range from HP is double the price, same features but 8ppm. So unless speeds an issue buy this one. Works great but it's a little noisy but then again most printers are. I love the wireless capability. Not too shabby for the price.

I'm very picky when it come to me spending money. Throughout my search I seen what I can use in everything that my printer has to offer. I love it if I can take a pic and put it on here I would! I've had it for about a year now.

This printer was alright, I'm sure there are better ones out there but this one is affordable and gets the job done.

Looks nice, pages look crisp and vibrant. Ink doesn't last long. Can be confusing to setup wireless. My biggest complaint is that even though Server 2008 uses the same driver as Win 7, HP will not allow or provide drivers to print from the server. You have to buy a "Business" class printer. Now I remember why I like Canon better.

I got this printer on sale to replace a more expensive HP printer that the paper kept jamming up on me. This printer works much better, a little slower printing but it's a budget printer. I like that the ink cartridges are pretty cheap compared to many other printers. It only uses 2 ink cartriges unlike some others that use 4 or 5. I got this at BB on sale so it was quite a bargain. It was easy to setup and comes with Wi-Fi, but I didn't set that up, I'm using the USB cable. If all you need is basic printing this is a good printer. It was more simple to setup than any privous printer I've had. I haven't used all the features yet but I'm very satisfied with this printer.

Can't beat this printer for the price. Does everything you want it to. Recommend for everyone

I bought this printer as a portable printer that my wife needed for an exam. This printer is light and not heavy so it got the job done. The printer however is very basic. It was fine for the 15-20 pages of text that needed to be printed, but I don't think it would handle photos too well.

good low priced printer. satisfactory text. I don't plan on using it for photos so can't judge it on that. ink consumption? - we'll see. set-up instructions weak. for someone uninitiated, set-up could be problematic. for someone slightly tech savvy it's easy enough. worked the first time. if you are noise sensitive, put it in a closet or another room. the one I have sounds like a dump truck. I just hope it is as sturdy as one.

If you need a basic printer then this is just fine for that.

This printer is great for home use. Works perfectly and will print, scan or copy pretty quickly. The printing is very crisp and comes out clean. The ink cartridges will last and are not that expensive to replace. What is also great is the HP tech support. I am not that computer savvy and called HP to get my printer wirelessly installed. That is because I did find the manual too complex to comprehend and do it on my own. And that HP tlech support is available 24/7.

Don't buy this printer if you want to occasionally just make a copy of a letter - it cuts off the last 1/2" of an 8.5" x 11" document. I bought my first 2540 in June, returned it to HP in August after 'working' with them through their nauseating troubleshooting regimen. I received a certified reconditioned unit that had been "meticulously inspected and tested to ensure it meets new-product performance criteria". You guessed it - it worked just like the new one - it would not copy the last 1/2" of an 8.5" x 11" document. So I wasted another hour on the phone with HP once again, did all their required troubleshooting steps - none worked of course so they sent me another printer. I just installed it and it behaves just like the previous two. Definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. I am truly disappointed in HP - there is obviously a design flaw in this product - unless I am unlucky to get 3 bad units in a row. It scans fine, it prints fine - but just don't expect to get a full-size copy of a letter size document - it will come up short. I have sent a note to HP to express my displeasure - when the phone don't ring I know it's them not calling.

I was in need of a replacement printer, and this model was perfect! 15% off, plus rewards points, made the purchase even better. Set up was easy and the AirPrint for Mac works great. Printing from your mobile phone, although I may not use it that much, works well too. If you're in need of a replacement printer for home or school, this is the one to buy.

Great for the price. But multiple pages take forever.

I've had the printer for about a month and not a single complaint. Very easy to hook up and like most guys, I didn't even look at the instructions. I much prefer a single ink cartridge and this is one of the few remaining models that offer this great feature. I highly recommend this printer.
