    It works

I was able to easily connect this printer to my Wi-Fi network, unlike the other brand I tried previously. The most important thing was that my iPhone recognized it right away so I was able to print without my computer. Windows also saw the printer and automatically installed it. I don’t like using inkjet printers for bland and white stuff I can do more cheaply with laser printers, but due to this one having a small footprint, I sometimes use it. I did have to print some lithium ion battery labels the other day that said “must print in color” so having this guy around was cool. Setup was pretty quick and HP has the apps for your phone. I haven’t yet checked on the replacement ink pricing because I generally use printers until they run out of ink and recycle them but perhaps I’ll give the replacement ink service a whirl because the pricing appears to be quite reasonable. All in all, the printer is fine. It doesn’t scream quality but all printers nowadays are pretty cheap and simple so I’m not complaining. It prints and stays connected to Wi-Fi, which is all I’m really asking for.

An unusable and broken set up system. Couldn’t get anything to work after over an hour of working on it. Returned it for an upgraded HP model and with the same exact software and process had that printer up and running in 5 minutes. Avoid this one it’s cheap for a reason.

      Hi, Nermin.

I’m sorry that your printer has rendered prints slowly and used ink more rapidly than you’d anticipated. Your disappointment comes as no surprise here. I want to help you improve print speed, to understand what might be happening with the ink and to remedy any problem that might exist. I hope the information and resources below serve that end.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed. Find that guide here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2817150-2408088-16

Next, I can’t say for certain what’s happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than ones in our Instant Ink program. If you’ve gone through only those cartridges that came with the printer, this could explain what you’re seeing.

However, if you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.

Regardless, if your results differ dramatically from the estimates above – or if print speed does not improve adequately – I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

    Great Printer

This is a very nice printer. It is quite compact so it fits in small spaces or can be moved around the house. It was fairly easy to set up using the app. I had a little difficulty getting the two cartridges inserted but reread the directions and got it figured out. I got the printer set up and working in about 10 minutes. I like that there are only 2 cartridges to deal with. The color on this printer is outstanding and shows really brilliant colors. Of course the big issue with printers is cost to replace the cartridges and I don’t know the cost. I have had many HP printers at both work and home and. I prefer them compared to other brands. This printer also makes very nice copies. I didn’t sign up for the Instant Ink program on this printer yet but I have it on another printer and it works well for me. This review is requiring 1000 words so I am at a loss to for what more to write. I would highly recommend this printer to others.

A printer should be simple to setup this one is impossible. The App prevents you from completing setup in you phone unless you have wireless router, even if you hook up phone to USB port in back. Took me 5 hours of trying, now returning to store. Won't buy any hp products in future. All the stupid reviews said 15 min setup, easy to use, compatible with phone. Not true.

I am so so with electronic, internet, network, and such things. That being said i followed directions to set it up without activating the registered service with the free ink because based on 2 decades of experience cartridges will clog due to non use way before they are used up. U could not connect to or use the printer after spending an hour trying to set it up on my network for computer and phone use. I believe it would have been a breeze if u had set it up as suggested, but i was thinking about how i had been buying aftermarket online ink at around $20 for 2 or 3 years worth and i dont use it enough to justify the cost of original ink. So after 2 days i needed to print the thing i was going to need to print soon that motivated me to purchase this printer. And like magic i found that i could print from all devices by just hitting the print button. It is recognized online on my network and has worked reliably ever since. Not a huge fan of how the paper catcher hangs out in front all vulnerable to the high rate at which i brake such things so i found a corner spot for the printer vs the alternative of having the pages dump on the floor when printing. Pretty small negative for such an inexpensive computer. My expectations were low having last owned a brother that was awesome for many years but this printer exceeded expectations and is more simple having far less functions and capabilities that i just didnt care to learn to use anyway. Print. Copy. That's all i need. Push a button. Done.

works well but the bluetooth connectivity is not very good to be honest. It worked amazingly for the first few days and then it just kept showing error messages one after the other. I had to plug it into my laptop with a cable and that's when it started working again. It prints beautifully though, and it is pretty quick with an awesome price that you can't beat so overall I guess it's an alright purchase. It doesn't come with a cable though, so get your own just in case.

Inexpensive full featured printer with some issues

First off, the printer is pretty small which is good because it has a small footprint and can fit in small places. However, I'm not a big fan of the setup and the way you have to press a combination of buttons to put it in Wi-Fi setup mode. And I really do not like the HP smart app ever since HP switched away from there full featured install packages and started using the HP Smart app. It has done nothing but cause issues with certain features like network scanning and then the printer just randomly not showing up as online. Even though the IP address to the printer can be pinged and get a solid response with zero packet loss and you can even reach the printers web console by typing in the printers IP address in whatever browser your using. For some reason the HP Smart app shows the printer offline from time to time. This issue is not a network issue as I have other HP printers on the same network that do not have this issue. However, this one seems to have problems intermittently. Just like all inkjet printers, the ink is not cheap to replace. If you're on a budget and looking for a decent printer that has pretty much all of the features you would want, such as print, scan copy, then this printer may be perfect for you. Or if you're in a dorm room in college and have limited space, this may also be a great printer for you. Just be ready for an interesting setup process and if your college has an open Wi-Fi network, it may be even more difficult.

    Budget printing done right.

So, after my HP 9025 experienced a paper jam and then subsequently broke internally after we gently tried to clear the paper, and then finding out that HP was no longer making parts available for that model, I said NO MORE to HP printers. Besides, I wasn't printing nearly as much as I used to. Then around Christmas time, I found I needed to do some moderate printing to prepare for some events. I needed a printer, quick. This printer was on sale at Best Buy for $39 bucks and had great reviews so I went ahead and got it. Could not be happier! No, it's not a speed demon and I wouldn't pair it up with Photoshop, but it does what it's designed to do very well. Print jobs look excellent. Manual flatbed scanning is again, slow, but it gets the job done. No hiccups with paper navigation through the printer so far. It even has a B&W or Copy option right from the top panel. Very cool. Even at normal retail, I think this printer is a great buy. Has it restored my trust in HP printers? The jury is still out on that as this is a budget printer, but I would definitely buy again.
