HP is going for simple with their line of "e" all-in-ones. As the name suggests, this is a part of HP's "e" printers. Everything is intended to be wireless. No printer cable is included. It is intended to be used with HP+, which requires an account, in order to fully take advantage of its features. Setup is fairly straightforward. I just followed the instructions and did not run into any issues. It does use one ink cartridge for ALL of the colors. Now this is 100% to get you to buy a whole new ink cartridge when you run out of one color, and I don't think that is a smart thing at all. Very wasteful. In terms of its all-in-one features, everything worked well. It can print crisp texts and documents. Color prints were ok. I would not print a photo album on this but it can print powerpoints no problem. It scans well. It copies well. It does not do double-sided printing and requires some manual labor for that. All in all, the printer works well. I think HP continues to push its HP+ and smart features. This may work for some and not others. Subscriptions are not my favorite and the one color cartridge feels very wasteful and unnecessary.

First and foremost, the setup process for this printer was not very streamlined and it was a pain to get setup for me. I tried to use my computer that is not wi-fi or bluetooth capable, and found there wasn't any easy way to get connected to the printer. I then tried to use my phone but still found myself unable to get the printer set up without the use of a USB-USB cable, which I had to purchase specially to set this up. However, after I had the cable, it was not too bad to finish the setup process. To speak on physically setting it up, it was about standard, however HP has all-in-one color ink cartridges which is a major negative for me. Speaking on other features, the scanner worked well and produced decent-quality picture. The color and black and white printing works pretty well, the colors are crisp and it worked exactly as I would expect. For the price of the printer, it performed pretty well but it's nothing groundbreaking. I've had trouble in the past with the longevity of HP printers so I would have trouble recommending this to anyone.

Printer is lighweight. Perfect for usage with color. HP instant ink also is a plus for any HP printer.

For a basic, low cost printer, this one is for you! This isn’t the printer for the every day, high volume printer or one that wants quality high resolution prints. This is a “you get what you pay for” model. That being said, it does it’s job well. Out of the box, it brings the printer, the power cord, paperwork, and the black and color ink cartridges. Downloading the HP app and setting up the printer is a breeze. HP really does do a good job of making it as simple as possible. The main issue I have is that HP strongly pushes you into their HP ink subscription plans, of which I am not a fan. In my home, we fall right between two categories. If I go with the one I want to afford, there are months where I am under the max and then there are months when I have to print a lot and get hit with overage charges. If I go with the next higher up plan, I wind up with hundreds and hundreds of unused paged and I pay way more than I want. My suggestion is to avoid HP Ink and buy cartridges your self, despite the fact that they are crazy expensive. Your mileage may vary. Performance wise, it does what it says it will do very well. HP does make a good, quality printer. The print quality is average and print speed so-so. It’s the perfect printer for Grandma and Grandpa. No frills, basic printing.
