This printer is so annoying. It never wants to connect to the wifi, never wants to print, and then after like 1 hour of trying to get it back on the wifi it will print like 2 papers and say error. Don’t waste your money. Scans great though.

      Hi, Julia.

I am sorry to hear that your printer has failed to maintain a reliable connection. I can certainly understand your frustration, given the amount of time you’ve spent troubleshooting. With that in mind, I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help you improve your printer’s performance to your satisfaction.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity. Regarding the error messages, on the same diagnostics page you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning difficulties. Visit that page here:

If any problem persists, you can contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Serial number
      - Your location

I bought this printer for the scanning functionality, as I wanted to digitize a number of documents and get rid of the hard copies. Turns out, it only really works with the HP Smart app, which scans your items, and stores them on some HP server in the cloud. I see how HP definitely wants that, and I guess I can see how some customers might want that. But I don't want that. I want a secure link between my scanner and my computer, and I don't particularly want a relationship with HP beyond the simple transaction of buying their product. I'll be buying a different product.

Bought this printer for my parents who are in their 60s. Had trouble connecting the printer to the wifi so connected the cable. They still couldn’t get it connected. I helped them connect it to wifi but now we are having issues printing. They can not get it to print off pages from websites or images from the snipping tool. When they do finally get it to print it takes foreverrrrrrrrr for the machine to complete the print job.

      Hi, Janet.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer ran out of ink so quickly. I can certainly see why the color ink cartridge being depleted after only one page would be a jarring surprise and a poor start to owning a new printer, so I’ll try to offer some helpful suggestions.

First, I can’t say for certain what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less yet than ones in our Instant Ink program. For example, your printer takes HP 67 cartridges. The XL versions of those have estimated page yields of 200 to 240 pages.

Just the same, a single page for setup cartridge capacity seems unusual. I’m concerned that the cartridge was somehow defective. Accordingly, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents can be longer than normal.
