0 stars. This has been a problem since I opened the box when it would not connect online to set it up. It took 2 hours. Since then, it does not feed the paper properly and only prints on occasion when it feels like it. It's too late to return. The best fate for this is the garbage.

I would give this a negative if I could. It has been nothing but a problem. Their tech support is shockingly bad. I have spent hours on the phone with them and I still have a broken printer. I have had it for 4 months and it’s only worked 20% of the time. My first HP printer and certainly my last!

Received the printer and ink cartridge that came with it didn’t work. I had bought new replacement cartridges at the same time. Used replacement and it worked. Attempted to contact customer service for another cartridge to be sent out and my option was to send the whole printer back.

Terrible. Just really really bad. Constant issues with connection. Needed to reconnect almost every time I wanted to use it. The software is truly one of the most unintuitive things I’ve ever experienced. Misfeed errors. Streaked print jobs. Just really terrible. Don’t spend your money on this.

I have had to setup and work with alot of printers. There really is not anything special about this printer, nor does it try to be anything great. In terms of setup, it took longer than I expected. I have worked with HP wireless printers before. This one was just annoying. I thought everything would be simple after downloading the app but I was wrong. I just could not get anything to work. You have to have a driver for each device. Wireless was just so buggy. It also constantly bugs me to get the HP ink program. The wireless was just so unreliable. With the cable connection, it printed fine. However, this was not the advertised wireless experience. There is a little screen for the printer's function. It isn't backlit so have some light prepared to actually see anything. In terms of quality, it prints, scans, and copies fine. Nothing spectacular. The advertised print speed is 5.5 color pages per minute and 7.5 mono color pages per minute. Things were initially much slower than advertised. However, I found out that after some settings manipulations to lower the quality, it prints much faster. All in all, it is a budget printer. I was kind of disappointed with the experience. Getting the wireless to work was a bother. It was buggy. HP is really trying to push their ink replacement program.

      Hi there.

I am so sorry to hear that you received what sounds like a used printer. I can imagine how disappointing and disconcerting this must have been, so I want to make sure that I provide information to help you make it right.

First, I can’t say for sure what happened in your situation, but what you describe can occur when a printer is sold, returned to the seller, then sold again to a different buyer without being adequately inspected before shipment. Because you expected to receive a printer with all the necessary components, I recommend you contact the seller to address this promptly. You can find the seller by scrolling to the bottom of the Best Buy website and clicking Orders & Returns.

I will also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date, so you might make use of it if you need to. To verify the warranty, you can use the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Remember you can always contact us for support whenever you need as well. We're always here and more than happy to help you. You can reach us via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has rendered prints slowly and displays an error during specialized printing instructions. I can wholly understand why that would be a confusing and ultimately frustrating combination, so I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will help.

The setup of this printer was tedious and complicated. I have an almost three year old HP printer that’s similar in price point, also wireless and has pretty much the same features—but it was easier and faster to set up that older printer, even to print from multiple types of devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones). I thought I’d have a similar hassle-free experience with this HP printer as well. It was not to be. I downloaded the app onto my smartphone and followed the instructions, but the app kept on having problems connecting to the printer and vice versa. After multiple attempts, it finally worked and I was able to print out a test page. I then proceeded to test it out with my other devices—a Windows laptop, a MacBook, an iPad. The first hassle is that you have to download the driver or app for the printer to each and every device you plan on printing from (I didn’t have to do this for my older HP wireless printer). I even tried the other way of connecting wirelessly directly from the device to the printer and bypassing using our wireless network (which I don’t prefer because then I have to disconnect my device from our network, connect to the printer’s network, then reconnect to our network, etc.) but that way was also buggy and took forever and simply did not work well. Then the biggest hassle—I kept on having problems with whatever device I was using connecting and communicating to the printer, even when using the regular household wi-fi connection. And I know it was not our internet connection, because we have really good and reliable high-speed internet. It was not the devices I was using, because I did not have any prior connection problems using any of those devices with our old printer. It was this particular new printer and/or the HP app/program. I am a pretty tech-savvy person and am usually the one my family members and friends turn to when they need technical assistance, and I could not believe the hoops I had to jump through in order to set up this printer. However, most of the other aspects of this printer are up to par. Replacing the ink cartridges was quick and easy. The actual printing, scanning, and copying are good, both in black and white and in color. The footprint is pretty much what you would expect from a printer, so to prepared to give up a bit of space on your desk—but one of the best features of this printer is the wireless capability (when it works!) so I actually put it elsewhere in the room and not on my desk. Some smaller issues which annoyed me—there is a little window screen which shows the status of the printer’s features (such as the wireless connection, level of inks), but it’s not backlit so it is very hard to see. And when setting up the printer with every device it keeps on bugging you over and over to buy your replacement ink cartridges through the HP automatic replenishment program, trying to lure you into it by dangling a supposed “2 free months of ink” if you try it out and “you can cancel anytime” but I was just not interested. Also, when turning the printer on, it takes an inordinate amount of time for it to start up and be fully ready to print, so if you happen to be in a hurry to print or copy something quickly and be out the door, you’re out of luck. For these reasons and of course because of the arduous setup experience, I am giving this printer a review rating of 3/5 stars.
