Easy and quick installation. Signed up for the automatic cartridge refills and already received a shipment ensuring I don't run out of ink. Quality for the price can't be beat!

Very happy with this printer. Setup was super easy and all the print and scan functions worked flawlessly on my PC and phone. I was pretty surprised by the print speed while using color as well. It's print quality is more than good enough for work and school projects but you'll want to look elsewhere for a dedicated photo printer.

Today I am reviewing the DeskJet 2755 HP Printer. Pretty simple straightforward design, not too big and bulky. It can print, scan, and copy. This printer comes with the ink included, (color and black)The sheet input tray can hold 60 sheets of paper according to the instructions. This particular printer is wireless which means you will need home internet as well as a smart phone to download the HP Smart app. Once downloaded everything is pretty simple to set up. This printer is perfect for home use or a small office where you only need to print a few pages here and there because it can only print a few pages per minute. The printer itself feels like it’s made well, good quality plastics and electronics.

This printer is great for my simple needs and a great value. We print 10-20 pages per month at most and scan a few things every month. I just needed a simple to use all in one and this is it. Set up was easy. You download the HP Smart app and it walks you through. The printing quality is good and I'm very impressed with the scan and copy quality. Copies have been nearly identical to the original and the scans capture a lot of detail, even at the lower DPI settings. You initiate a scan from the app and can also scan from your phone rather than the scanner bed. If you have simple to moderate needs out of a printer but don't want to sacrifice quality, this printer meets that need for the great price.

My old printer finally stopped working and when I did research trying to find one I discovered this one included 6 months' worth of ink that they send by monitoring my ink levels. It prints beautifully and I have no problems with using the printer as they have a troubleshooter that is on my computer that will actually show me everything I need to know when using my new printer.

Probably one of the worst HP printers I've used

Overall— It prints fine just like any other HP. The reason for “worst” is in the software. Setup was shoddy, it had me connect to the HP printers WiFi network then connect to my WiFi. That’s when the problems began. First, it would try to populate a list of networks that would result in a “no networks available”. If I open the WiFi tool on any other device I get back, almost instantly, my main WiFi & guest network followed by about 7+ neighbor networks. The HP app (I’m more inclined to believe the printer at this point) didn’t pull up anything after multiple refresh attempts. After closing the app and attempting the process again I managed to properly connect. This time it appeared on my list of pre-setup devices. Clicking the 2700 printer prompted the WiFi screen again, which finally populated the list. Click the correct network then enter my password and yet again… error. It wasn’t able to connect due to it claiming the credentials didn’t work. Backing out and entering my information again didn’t work. I force closed the app and tried again. This time the app said it was already connected. That’s a head-scratcher to me. I clicked the newly connected printer to set up the print anywhere feature. That went smoothly for once. However, when connected locally through WiFi and the printer is idle for an extended period of time, it can't seem to find it. I’ve gone through the settings to see if there’s one to wake when prompted to print or to just stay awake. I have not seen anything like that there. In comparison, I’ve tried directly connecting to the printer through USB and that works with no problems. To make things clear, using the HP smart app with an HP printer isn’t my first rodeo. I currently own 2 HP printers that use said app. Neither has given me the issues I’ve come across with this printer. All-in-all, it works, prints how it should, and has a solid construction. Conclusion— Should I not have experienced setup and connection issues I’d fully recommend this printer. However, as it stands, I cannot. It’s entirely possible I got a bad batch and that the printer I got received faulty components or poorly written software.

      Hi there.

Thanks for the review and the feedback. While I’m glad to hear you’re satisfied with some aspects of the printer, I’m sorry to hear you’ve encountered such difficulty with the software and connectivity. I can understand how that would quickly become frustrating, so I’ll offer some resources and information that I hope will help.

First, I recommend that you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including wireless connectivity and printer-offline issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If the problem persists, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

This printer has a few pros and a lot of cons. The pros are that it has a small form factor, it has a really nice scan feature from its local homepage, the HP Smart app prints and scans well, and the printer produces an excellent, high resolution color image on HP photo paper. But, that image is not borderless. It has a thin margin on three sides and a large 1/2 inch (12 mm) margin on the bottom no matter what type of paper I use. This is highly disappointing since I thought borderless was pretty much the standard nowadays. When I tried printing a government form that ultimately has to be scanned, I had an option of the bottom of the form being clipped off or else the image being resized. Considering the government plans to scan the form, who knows if their software knows what to do with a resized form. I am sure it would reject the one that was clipped because it completely cut off the signature line. My reasonably priced laser printer was able to print the form properly without any resizing or missing information. My favorite feature is the the scanning function on the local settings page. No software is required to be installed on the computer to use it. Just type in the local address of the printer, log in, and go to the scan section. It asks for the scan details like resolution, file type (PDF of JPEG). Then it scans the flatbed and instantly produces the requested file. This feature is user friendly and potentially helpful if a friend comes over and wants to scan something. The scanner resolution / image quality is also excellent. I scanned in the high resolution image I printed on photo paper and they look identical. The HP Smart App makes it simple to scan and print from my phone. In addition to scanning from the flatbed scanner, it also has a scan function using the phone camera. I like being able to instantly print a picture from my photo library without having to go through multiple processes. Same goes for scanning in an image and saving it. Now, back to the cons. Another major problem came with installation / setup. The printer could not contact the servers at HP for days, even though I confirmed it was on my network and I was able to access the local machine on my network. Straight out of the box, I tried to do everything through the newest version of the HP Smart app. The app was able to connect to the printer, but it took many, many attempts to get it to find and connect to my WiFi network. When it came to signing up for the HP web services like Instant Ink, the app tried multiple times and eventually gave up, saying to try via a computer. On my computer, I could access the settings page, print, and scan, but I could not connect to the HP services or update the firmware. On the fourth day of the printer being online, it downloaded a firmware update on its own, and gained the ability to start talking to the HP servers. I knew about the update because it advised it was updated on the local settings page. However, the print functionality was frozen. After multiple power cycles of completely unplugging the power cord, it eventually started to respond again and I was able to sign up for the web services. While this issue is hopefully related to the first batch of this new model, it is going to be frustrating until they start shipping with updated firmware. I cannot imagine a person without a technical background being able to setup this printer in its current state. The printer has some potential, but I cannot recommend it in its current state. The tech savvy will be frustrated with setup process and the large 1/2 inch margin clipping the bottom of documents. The non-tech savvy will probably give up and return the printer. If HP updates the firmware prior to shipping and fixes these issues, I would be happy to try again in a few months.

      Hi, Tony.

Thanks for the extensive review and feedback. While I’m glad you like so many aspects of your printer, I’m so sorry to hear it was so difficult to set up. The repeated failures to connect and need to power down sounds like it would quickly have become exasperating, so I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help.
