Horrible to Set Up and Not Mobile Friendly

I have set up printers, both complex and to very simple based. This is suppose to be a simple system for consumers, for small AIO. Download App->Connect to printers network->connect to home network from the app-> Done. However this doesn’t work, the app isn’t able to located the network, tried switching from 2.4ghz to 5ghz same results, and then the app doesn’t provide much help because the links within the app are so outdated that my phones web browsers recognizes them as phishing pages, imagine non technical customers they wouldn’t even be able to go pass that page on their phone. In addition When it’s connected to the printers network you won’t know if you are connected unless you open the App and it will have a status and then you realize how poopy this printer is, they connect via Bluetooth to their network, so if you walk away from the printer while trying to set up it loses connection, are you kidding me? it’s 2020 everything connects via WiFi, spend some more money HP. This is your trash product that you push to consumers. No wonder the printer can’t even find the WiFi network because you guy are probably putting in a cheap WiFi chip. This printer is so bad that I almost threw it in the trash bin instead of even returning it back.

Horrible at maintaining a wifi connection for wireless printing which is what I need. I get it’s Rt up, print a test page, use the iPhone app and I sallee and visible all good. Next day offline again. Experience is so bad I can hardly use it. Frustrating to get a label Romeo it because of the set up to find the machine. Printed some at tratmowgea and instructions on how to do it used all my ink expensive. Would not buy again nor recommend.

Don't waste your time. This printer only works with the HP App which requires Windows 10/11 or updated smartphone. But the app on my smartphone can't find the computer and doesn't list the 27000 series. So there is NO WAY to change any of the settings or to have any control. A total piece of junk.

Run far, far away from these printers. Randomly drops offline, requiring multiple resets and attempts to reconnect it to WiFi, with inexplicable failures during setup. From purchase 12/20/20 this printer never accessed my wireless service. I downloaded the HP App to android and PC, no luck with either device. I finally went to BB and purchased a USB printer cable. That worked until I needed to replace the ink cartridge. The printer would not recognize the new cartridge! When I ran a query on HP Smart, I got a response that since I had never set up my printer on wireless I could not change out the cartridge!? After >6 frustrating hours of messing with this, I made an appointment with BB Geek Squad. They tried wireless, ethernet, 2 technicians and >2 hours...nothing. I could not return the printer due to it being past date. I have been completely unable to contact a HP rep to figure out how to get a refund on this horrible unit. 10 months of warrenty shows on file with my HP account, but I cannot get anyone to contact me. Worthless.

I’m sorry that your printer has not performed well with your MacBook Air. Your frustration comes as no surprise, considering the device has failed to maintain a wireless connection with the device, and that you’ve printed mostly with your mobile phone. I want to help you out of this dilemma. I hope the resources below guide you to that end.

First, if you’ve not done so already, I recommend you follow a guide on our support site to printer compatibility with Mac OS. It covers several software and support options for printing with Mac OS on HP devices. Find that guide here:

Hi! Decent printer, does what we need except keep ink. The whole thing about 6 months of ink is a lie, it lasted 1 month for us, not even enough to get to know the printer. Cant say i actually recommend it. Think it wouldve been wiser to buy a more expensive printer that used less ink.

      Hi, Chris.

I’m sorry that your printer purchase has fallen short of your expectations. I can wholly understand why having the ink cartridges run out five months before you’d anticipated would be a jarring surprise. I want to help you understand what’s happening and remedy the situation, so I’ll provide some clarifying information and a resource I hope will serve that end.

First, the ink cartridges that arrived with your printer are not designed to last six months. Rather, your printer purchase included an option of six months free in our Instant Ink program. In this program, you choose the number of pages you’d like to print monthly, and replacement cartridges are shipped as needed based on usage. You should have had the opportunity to enroll in this free trial offer when you set up the printer.

I recommend that you contact our Instant Ink program at +1-855-785-2777 so we can help you assess and resolve the situation.
