Upon reading other reviews, I have a feeling this has to do with Instant Ink as well. Luckily it is still under warranty so HP should be sending me a replacement - however the hour-long call with support magically disconnected while collecting my address info - how convenient. Do not join Instant Ink - it is illogical and not instant. Internet connection is shoddy. Better to connect directly to your computer. Save yourself the trouble and get a better model, or a different brand all-together.

IT is VERY slow, so read up on how many pages it can do in a minute (not many.) We returned it and got another, faster printer at BB that was about the same price. Love the new one!

Have spent hours with Support and have taken into store. Told me it’s a good printer for college students but I would feel sorry for the students who end up with it.

It is constantly giving me problems. The worst part of it is that the ink is super expensive and runs out really fast. I really wish I never bought it.

Following that, you could also set the printer to print black and white only. If you find you're still using quite a bit, Instant Ink might just be worth a try.
