I expected a true 4 core I7 machine; when I found out after I bought it, it was a dual core I7 instead. Had no Idea there were I7 dual cores. I have an external Blueray DVD player and the video drivers won't let me use it for any Blueray disks. It will play a standard DVD video on it. Tried to upgrade but haven't found a fix yet. I upgraded to windows 10 Pro. Came with Windows 10 Home. I Like the windows 10 over Windows 8. Drives like a windows 7 machine with Win 8 attributes, that are easily turned off and on. Had networking issues that somehow resolved itself overnight, I'm sure it had to do with Kaspersky being installed and blocking the other computers on my network. I did fix that. Will recommend the Envy with some reservations, it depends on how the laptop is to be used. For engineering I would say no for speed reasons. I think a quad I7 runs faster than a Dual I7.

This computer has worked well for me. It took a while to get used to since I switched over from Macs. It never gets too hot, which is nice. I'm enjoying the large screen. The play/pause and volume buttons are convenient. The touchscreen is sometimes useful and sometimes annoying if I'm trying to wipe a smudge or something. It has everything I was looking for.

Bought this laptop after returning a Dell computer which was a disaster. I didn't get one day of use with the Dell without major problems. I finally returned it and I bought the HP Envy. I haven't had any problems and it is easy to use. My one wish would be that the battery would last longer.. I would highly recommend this laptop to everyone. I love it.

I have been searching for this laptop for at least 6 months. I kept my eye on it as well as searching for others that are similar. The pictures do not do this laptop justice.. the screen is huge with an awesome display, as well as a smooth feeling with the keyboard. Overall this laptop has everything you need from an average user to an computer pro!

I am very happy with this laptop. It is very sleek, and designed well. The backlit keyboard is great on the eyes. The size of the laptop is perfect for me. I was looking for a 17 inch and this one came out as one of the best looking, and it has a lot of power to boot. The coolsense technology is also a great benefit. I am very happy with this laptop.

I wanted a laptop that had a lot of memory and I wanted the screen to be big. This laptop has both. When I first bought it it wouldn't recognize my printer. So I took it back to Best Buy and the Geek Squad updated it. Once he updated it now it updates by itself.

Had all the specs I wanted at a good price. Display is sharp and performance is solid. Just have to avoid all of Microsoft's keylogging and ads that come with Win10 by going to all settings and turning it all off.

This computer has been a dream. It has the touch screen which is wonderful. It is SO user friendly and was a dream to set up. I love the app tiles and how you personalize them so ones you use frequently are easily accessible. Sound is great, large screen is great. It has power, a long battery life. Best computer I ever purchased

The laptop is sleek, powerful, and able to run numerous programs quickly at the same time. Great for a college student. However it is a little slow to startup and the battery is pretty short. But overall it is a very good product.

Got a fair price by getting an opened boxed unit. Could not tell everything as well as new. Unit has had a couple glitches, but have been able to work thru them. Not as happy with the volume as I thought. older HP lap top seemed louder. Better with head phones. Like to try Bluetooth speaker.

I purchased this laptop because I needed to run multiple applications and Windows at the same time without the laptop slowing down and freezing up between switched from program to another. It's great. No freezing and the applicationstudents open quickly.

I like the speed ,hardware, display and the screen.

Great laptop for the price. Only bad thing is HP cheaped out on the track pad. No buttons, you click the track pad and have to nearly push your finger through the laptop to click. You would think a maxed out laptop like this they would put in a good track pad like on the Elite series.

I have now had this computer for about a month and love it. It is extremely fast and has great graphics. I have not had any issues with it. It is very reliable and the battery life is pretty good on it.

I haven't had a new computer in a while so I'm learning all the new things a little at a time. Great sound, large screen, backlit keys, etc. Had my pics transferred to the new one and they even look better! Windows 10 is already installed so I'm trying to learn that as well. Very happy with this purchase.

This laptop has all of the new bells and whistles. The only cons are that it did not come with a SSD or a quad core processor; however those items cannot be expected within this price point. The laptop is blazing fast and operates multiple programs with ease. It is a perfect hybrid for a leisurely gaming business person that travels!

This laptop works great. I am an accountant so I just needed it for doing office items and taxes during tax season. It's a little larger and heavier than I thought it would be, but it does the trick.
