I've had pretty good luck with HP products so I chose this laptop continuing that trend. So far I really love the laptop. Bought it around christmas and am just now digging into it. I am a little intimidated by windows 10 that's why the feet dragging. No issues with the machine at all. If not for windows 10 I would give 5 stars. Very quick machine. I would buy it again.

Purchased this for a gift for a family member. They love the laptop and it was very quick to get setup. No draw backs found and am very satisfied with the quality so far. I was concerned about the hinges being weak because I read reviews about weak or breaking hinges but I don't have any concerns at this time. Big screen and DVD player a plus for those occasional cds and dvds.

I reviewed several lap tops and went to many stores. Best buy staff was the best. They really know there stuff and spent the time with you comparing products and help me understand the difference and get the perfect one for me. Unlike staples there staff was hard to find and they did not know a thing about their products. I am very happy my lap top and I love the touch screen.

My old laptop was dying, so I needed a replacement. I was discouraged to find I would no longer be able to have Toshiba (always my previous #1 choice). I was also dismayed to know I was going to have to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The transition turned out to be much easier than I was expecting. I'm still having a little trouble learning how to find things on Windows 10 versus Windows 7, but the addition of "Cortana" has been invaluable. This is similar to iPhone's "Siri" -- Just ask or type questions, and it helps you find things on your computer, or goes out to the Internet to help answer your question. I have found it very helpful. I'm still getting used to the "chicklet-type" keyboard -- the one on the Toshiba was much easier to use. There is a touch screen, but I haven't used it much because most of my time is spent typing. There is also a "virtual" keyboard, but I think that would be cumbersome with this model. I have always had HP printers that have always been reliable. That weighed heavily in my decision to go for an HP product. I chose this model because it was the best "bang for the buck" with a very fast Intel processor, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, and I needed a 17" screen. Very happy with my choice.
