I love this laptop but it seems that every time I turn it on it needs to be updated on everything to keep up with the pace I time, downloads take forever as well, other than that it’s a great laptop for minor tasks

I need the 17" screen for my tax prep business. This one replaces a 17" ENVY (2013) that is now my backup for the Biz. Super fast and now problems after one month. Best Buy was my best option and they had a decent selection.

It's an overall great laptop for anyone. I was looking for a laptop that would be good for gaming but not as expensive as the gaming ones are and this one fit the profile.

LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS LAPTOP! Great sound..........FINALLY speakers in the front!! That was always my pet peeve.....poor sound quality on other laptops I've owned.

Laptop is 17 inch with great screen. Would prefer that it be glare free since there is a lot of glare from lamps. Also silver keys arte fifficult to see - balck is better

I currently have an HP laptop and it does great. So for my wife's bday I got her this new HP laptop. Was a little frustrating learning Windows 10, but now she handles easy.

This is such a good-looking laptop. It has all the bells/whistles I need (including speed, ports, graphics, design, good sound). This is definitely a workhorse, though it's more of a desktop replacement than a portable computer (it's got some weight to it--I keep it stationary and would not want to move it around alot). The Intel chip is the latest 7th gen. Core i7 chip which is blazing fast. RAM is 16GB RAM, the most I've every had. Everything is very "snappy" and I'm sure I'll never need all of it. It has a good video card that I can use when doing heavy video editing and media projects. The sound is the best of any laptop I've every owned. It has multiple USB ports, card reader and DVD drive (which is very hard to find on many newer laptops). The 1TB hard drive is 7200rpm (most newer laptops are either 5400rpm or SSD--I don't trust SSD yet). Right out of the box, the screen colors seemed a bit off (I was getting a yellowish tint only on the color gray. Definitely recommend that you look online for the instructions to do a Widows 10 screen calibration--I completed mine and it looks great now. I saw another reviewer complain that he couldn't get an external drive to be powered by this laptop's USB ports--I have not had this problem. I have a 3TB seagate external usb drive that I plug into this laptop's usb ports and it has no trouble drawing power. I exclusively use track pads when working on laptops. I really like the touch/feel of this track pad. Definitely go into the settings though--I always turn off two finger/three finger, gestures, etc.--lots in there to make the settings personalized. I have not played around with the touch screen yet. There are alot, and I mean ALOT of HP programs installed on this laptop that run at startup that you may or may not find necessary. Use the free program QuickStartup from Glary Utilities and you can uncheck whichever ones that you don't want starting up when this laptop starts up. Currently, I have HP Coolsense running, and I have all the other ones turned off. It will make a huge difference in how quickly your laptop boots. I do tons of media work and video editing. This laptop has both Intel HD Graphics and an Nvidia graphics card. Through reading I found that for the majority of everyday tasks, your will be using the Intel HD graphics. When a program needs more graphics horsepower, the Nvidia card will kick in as needed. You can check this by right clicking on the desktop, click on Nvidia Control Panel, and click on "manage 3D settings". You set "preferred graphics processor" to AutoSelect. If you absolutely want to make sure that the Nvidia card is used for a particular program, you can choose that program and set it on the Nvidia card instead of AutoSelect. Highly recommend going into the power settings and setting everything to "high performance" if you keep the laptop plugged in all the time. Also, because of the large screen size if you are older you may find some things very small and hard to read on the screen. If you use Firefox I recommend the extension "Theme Font Size Changer". Once you are on a website page, you can zoom it using this extension and it will remember this even after you close the browser, so you only every have to set it once on each website. Makes everything so much easier to read. I am thrilled with this my laptop. It is my first HP laptop and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I'm going to play around with it for a few weeks until I get used to it, and then do a Windows 10 clean install. Can't believe I got this much computer for such a good price.

Works very good no problems. But....I would like the function keys to to be hot...not have to use the fn key to use like F2. The keys do not contrast with the back ground. Would like better contrast or back lite keyboard.

Loved my last 17" Model, lasted 11 years!! Figured it was time for a new one!! Lol This new model still has cd/DVD in it, was told that standard feature was going away.

Qvc dell was terrible. Hp is great by comparison. Dell mother board crashed after 6 months and it had to be sent to dell. Boots slow and has never been right since it was repaired. Never have had a problem with an HP.

This was a great laptop, but I preferred a smaller size for my daily needs. So after about a week I returned it for a smaller size and love my decision. Again, great pc but was just too big for my needs.

I was looking for new laptop for quite some time and wanted a windows 7 one, but they are few and far between. Thought I'd give this a try and I'm quite pleased with it.

I have not explored everything yet. So far I like what I have except that I am having a problem with videos. The videos are slow and sometimes do not work at all. If anyone has suggestions I would like to hear them.

My computer has been working great since I bought it from Best Buy. The product was as described and listed at a good price. The staff was very helpful and I will definitely buy my next laptop from Best Buy.

Computer works great. However, if it wasn't for the excellent assistance from the Geek Squad in setting up and understanding the functions, this purchase would have been more difficult to understand and operate.

I really would have liked to get a 15" laptop, but definitely wanted the DVD for when traveling. I really do like this Laptop, so much faster than my older one.

So far No complaints with this laptop, plenty of ram and hardrive space very nice layout, have even played some graphic intense games on here with no problems.

Was initially hesitant to get a new computer for fear of the set up process, but it was remarkably smooth!! Still getting used to Windows 10, but so far, so good!

A bit skeptical about windows 10, but so far so good. Machine is a little slow to boot up, but I suppose it has a lot to do. All in all, happy with the purchase.

This is a great laptop for the price. Excellent processor, great specs, awesome sound. It's BIG, but if you want a big laptop, this is the one to get.
