Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The laptop worked great, but after just over a year of owning it, the left hinge suddenly broke and started pushing out the screen. I don't even use the 360 tablet mode feature that would cause wear to the hinges. Because my warranty expired last month, HP would charge me $400 to fix this and said the repair could take 3 weeks. Based on online HP forums, this is clearly a very common issue and the result of a manufacturer defect. I recommend googling "HP Envy broken hinge" before buying this product so you know the risk. I am likely just buying a new laptop because there is a high risk that this issue will just happen again after I send it in for repairs and the service representative on the phone's only solution to that fear was to pay for another warranty so that it is cheaper next time I would have to send it in. Outside of this issue, the battery life is not great and it loses charge quickly.
